Sherri Ardekani, LCSW

Therapist

Hi there! I’m Sherri and I’m a graduate of Saint Louis University with over 20 years of clinical experience working as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I started my career in community mental health working with adolescents in a residential substance abuse program. From there, I provided counseling to children at schools, ran an adult substance abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and was also part of my father's private practice. I most recently worked at St. Louis Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and ran my own practice as a Linehan Board Certified DBT therapist.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy

Are you feeling overwhelmed with life's daily stressors? Do you find that you are not where you want to be in your life? Do you sometimes find yourself anxious, depressed, or feeling hopeless and out of balance? A history of trauma, addictions, compulsions, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, and other life-interfering behaviors can do that. Together, we will work on removing the emotional and cognitive-behavioral barriers that keep you from achieving your personal goals.

Multicultural Approach

I was raised in an Iranian-American home and I’m fluent in Farsi. As a first generation American, I understand the challenges and struggles that come with balancing one's cultural norms with dominant culture. I can help you navigate through those barriers and find a good balance.

How I Help:

With over 20 years of practice, I have witnessed people transform their lives by changing their thoughts and behaviors resulting in improved relationships and a life worth living. If you are ready to make a change in your life, call me today!

More About Me:

I recently moved to San Diego from St. Louis and I’m enjoying all that San Diego has to offer, especially running and biking! In my free time I also like to dance salsa and bachata.
