Jessica Egan

Associate Therapist

Hi, my name is Jessica Egan. I am an Associate Clinical Social Worker. I bring a comprehensive understanding of human development and psychological processes to my clinical practice thanks to my educational foundation. I have worked in a variety of settings providing support to clients from hospice patients and their families to veterans and their dependents. More recently, I have focused on teens and adults struggling with eating disorders.

I am passionate about normalizing clients' struggles and value an individualized approach to therapy. I recognize that every individual is unique and find value in tailoring treatment strategies to suit the specific needs and circumstances of each client. Having embarked on my own healing journey, I understand the significance of building a strong therapeutic relationship. This requires openness and vulnerability; I aim to normalize and validate your experiences so you can be comfortable in processing any form or trauma or obstacle you have experienced.

Grief & Loss

Have you been told “I’m so sorry about your loss (or sick family member), let me know if you need anything!” and felt completely alone? Receiving a terminal diagnosis or losing someone close to us is something that our family and friends often feel ill-equipped to deal with unless we have experienced it ourselves. My goal is to treat you as a normal human who is also going through something life-changing and incredibly overwhelming. I aim to create a space where any emotions you are feeling are validated and welcomed free of judgment. I want you to be brave enough to share the good, the bad, and the ugly so that the grief/loss you are experiencing is able to be processed instead of held inside and creating difficulty in your daily life down the road.

military services

As active duty service members, veterans, first responders, or dependents, do you feel frustrated with the system’s expectations to protect and serve with a lack of emotional support? Do you feel that you will be seen as “less than” or incapable of climbing the ranks if you seek help? I have a natural empathy for you and your struggles and aim to provide a safe space for you to discuss any struggles you are experiencing in your work life or your personal life, as I feel that when in a high stress occupation, you deserve to also be treated as a human instead of a number. I understand the hesitation when seeking help and also want to challenge you to take care of yourself with the same level of importance as your duty to protect and serve.

How I Help:

I strive to create a safe and nonjudgmental space for my clients. You can expect to be met with a genuine curiosity and warm person who is ready to provide a safe space to walk alongside them in their journey of healing. I understand that struggles, challenges, and emotions are a natural part of the human experience. By taking the time to understand your specific circumstances, goals, and preferences, I develop individualized treatment plans that address your needs comprehensively. You can expect a therapeutic experience that is characterized by empathy, respect, and collaboration. Together, we will embark on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and positive change.

More About Me:

Outside of work, I cherish the quality time I spend with my family and friends. To start my day on a positive note, I take my dog on a walk outside to get some sunshine and movement in. I feel grounded when I get to spend time outdoors, explore new places, and unplug. I also find it important to my mental well-being to practice gratitude before or during my morning walk before the business of the day sets in. This morning routine helps me feel my best and sets a positive tone for the rest of the day. In my downtime, I indulge in a guilty pleasure: watching Bravo shows.
