Claudia Floros, LPCC

Therapist / Practice manager

Hi there, my name is Claudia Floros (she/ella) and I am a licensed professional clinical counselor in the state of California. My clinical experience varies from working with young to middle aged adults, first- generation individuals, the LGBTQ+ community, and those caught in between life transitions wanting to feel a bit more at ease with the decisions that lie ahead. I’ve helped individuals struggling with a number of issues including intimacy with both self and others, communication barriers, and the burden sometimes felt from responsibilities and life commitments. It would be an honor to get to connect with you to learn of helpful tools and practices for you to reach your truest, deepest self.

Culturally Sensitive

From both personal experience in being first generation and a student of Chicana Feminism, I can speak to the pressure and inner conflict that comes from the sacrifices previous legacies have made for us to be here today. When working with clients I offer a multicultural lens and deeply consider the intersections each and every one of us are crossed with in our day to day lives. Whether that’s through your gender identity, sexual orientation, or cultural background, I believe that to fully understand and become better acquainted with ourselves, we must have a deep understanding of where we come from, where we are and ultimately where we wish to go. Sometimes we are the first ones to pave the road for both us and future generations. Though that can evoke fear and uncertainty, I’m happy to walk alongside you as we get to where you wish to be.

“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.” Carl Jung

Curiousity & Compassion

Oftentimes when going to our support persons we’re given quick problem solving strategies to get over what’s causing us distress. In my experience, one of the most helpful tools can be that of simply listening with calmness and compassion to what's right in front of you. By providing a safe environment to do so, together we can become comfortable with remaining curious, courageous and creative to see what parts of us want to be validated and better understood. In our work together you can count on me to be fully present and empathically attuned to all parts of you. Whether that’s the busybody or caretaking adult, the timid inner child afraid to trust again or the shameful part we work hard to keep at bay. All parts are welcome.

How I Help

My ultimate goal is to provide you with a warm space for you to restore trust and understanding with yourself so that the wholeness we cultivate from within can then be spread amongst the people you love. The deeper the connection within ourselves, the more profound the connection we create with others. I remind my clients that this is a space for you to bring your whole self into so that we may form a bond to trust one another and ultimately work as an effective team. I work to honor the space that we are in together while in session and to sit with whatever may come up for you at any time. I am mindfully integrative in my approach and work collaboratively with my clients to figure out what will be most helpful in their journey to becoming their most authentic selves.

More About Me

Native to southern California, I have always been one to love the outdoors. When not connecting through therapy you can find me reading at home next to my pup, running with the local run club or exploring fun, new restaurants.
