Ariana Hernández, LMFT

Marketing Assistant

Welcome! I'm Ariana, though you'll usually find me going by Ari. As bareWell's marketing assistant, I bring our digital presence to life through our website, blog, and newsletter, where I share insights on mental health topics and introduce you to the compassionate professionals who make bareWell so special. Beyond marketing, I'm also a therapist with experience supporting clients across all age groups in diverse settings, from traditional in-person sessions to the convenience of telehealth.

My journey to bareWell began at San Diego State University, where I studied Psychology and Journalism while writing and editing for The Daily Aztec, the student-run newspaper. This helped sharpen my skills in storytelling and communication. I went on to complete my Master's degree in Clinical Psychology at Pepperdine University, deepening my understanding of the human experience and therapeutic practice. Now I get to combine both worlds, making mental health resources feel approachable and helping people find the care that's right for them.

Strengths-Based

During my clinical practice, I have gained valuable experience working across different settings, including educational institutions, non-profit organizations, and private practices. Within these settings, I’ve had opportunities to engage with a wide range of clients spanning different age groups, from children and adolescents to adults and seniors. My therapeutic approach is holistic and tailored to meet your needs while drawing from different modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, mindfulness practices, and family systems. My approach is also collaborative and strengths-based, focused on empowerment. You possess a unique blend of knowledge, skills, and talents and harnessing these strengths is a powerful resource that can pave the way for personal growth and positive change.

Culturally-Sensitive

I recognize the intersectionality of identity and the complex layers that shape your sense of self and belonging in society. As a culturally-sensitive therapist, I honor the richness and diversity of human experiences and acknowledge how your unique lived experiences help shape your identity and your understanding of the world. I welcome clients of any background, faith, and orientation and I provide a caring and supportive space for you to share your stories.

Systems-Oriented

While working within the school system, I collaborated with counselors, educators, parents, and other stakeholders to provide early intervention curriculum to students and implement evidence-based practices, as needed. This systemic approach focused on addressing mental health issues and cultivating environments that normalize seeking help and support. The journey towards healing and growth extends far beyond the confines of the therapy room. By examining how family, friends, colleagues, and the community impact your overall well-being, we gain a better understanding of the social framework that shapes you and is shaped by you.

How I Help

I am dedicated to creating content that promotes understanding, acceptance, and connection within our audience and community. Our social media platforms, blog, and newsletter serve as resources that contain tips, stories, and discussions on mental health issues, inviting readers to delve deeper into the subject matter. In my practice as a therapist, I strive to create a warm and welcoming space where you feel comfortable expressing yourself and exploring your emotions. By utilizing evidence-based techniques and collaborating closely with you, I’m here to support you throughout your therapeutic journey. Whether through content creation or therapy sessions, my ultimate goal remains the same - to provide a supportive and informative environment where you feel empowered to prioritize your well-being and take steps towards a healthier, more fulfilling life.
