Tehya Christine, AMFT
Intake Coordinator | Therapist
Hi, my name is Tehya, and I am an Intake Coordinator at bareWell. As the first point of contact for many people seeking support, I strive to meet you with warmth and respect to honor the courage it takes for you to reach out. I know how vulnerable this step in seeking mental health care can feel, and my goal is to offer an intake experience that feels safe, supportive, and human from the very beginning. I care deeply about reducing stigma and approaching you as more than a set of symptoms – I value your story, your pain, and your resilience.
In addition to my administrative role at bareWell, I am currently a practicing Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) trainee. My clinical practice is grounded in a collaborative, relational approach and I view healing as something that unfolds through safety, connection, and attunement. I strive to show up as present, grounded, and emotionally attuned, walking alongside you rather than positioning myself as an expert. I work from an integrative framework, informed by emotion-focused and experiential therapies, in order to support those impacted most by trauma, PTSD, attachment wounds, and early childhood experiences.
How I Help:
I am particularly interested in and passionate about how early relationships shape our patterns of coping, emotional regulation, and connection. I am of the belief that many of our coping strategies develop from serving an important purpose - to help you survive difficult or traumatic experiences. In our work together, we can gently explore these patterns with curiosity and compassion, while discerning whether they continue to serve & support the life experiences and relationships you want today. My hope is to create a space where you feel safe enough to explore your inner world, deepen self-understanding, and move toward greater self-compassion, connection, and authenticity.
More About Me:
In my free time, I enjoy Pilates classes, hiking, and spending time at the beach. I love reading and consider myself a lifelong student—curious, reflective, and always learning both in and outside of the therapy room.
