Dr. Sarah Lyn

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST

Hi there and welcome - I’m so glad you’re here! My name is Dr. Sarah Lyn. I’m a licensed clinical psychologist in California, Maine, and Massachusetts. I hold both a Masters in Professional Psychology and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from William James College in Newton, MA. Prior to that, I earned my Bachelor’s in Neuroscience at Mount Holyoke College. Over the past 10 years, I have trained in a variety of settings – including outpatient clinics, community mental health centers, hospitals, and schools – and with people of all ages. My diverse clinical background allows me to take an integrative approach to therapy, meaning our work together is always tailored to you and your needs. Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, my cultural roots also show up in how I approach therapy: I value family, community, and joy – even in the hard times. Whether we’re working through big emotions, old wounds, or everyday stress, I’m here to walk beside you with curiosity, compassion, and the belief that healing is absolutely possible.

CONNECTION

Healing happens in connection - with others and with ourselves - and lies at the heart of this work. To me, therapy is a space where we make sense of your experiences together, so that you don’t have to carry the load alone. I strive to create a space that feels genuine, collaborative, and warm – a space where you can be open, curious, and fully yourself.

MEANING

In my work with clients, I often ask, “How do you make sense of this?” or “What does this mean to you?” The meaning we assign to our experiences holds tremendous power. Together, we will uncover what truly matters to you, by exploring behavioral patterns, beliefs, and emotions and understanding the role they play in your daily life. With extensive training in both Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, I believe everyone deserves to build a life that is meaningful and worth living. In our work together, we will figure out what that looks like for you.

compassion & care

Compassion and care shape how I show up as a therapist. I believe real change happens when people feel accepted exactly as they are – not judged or pressured, but understood. I bring warmth, humor, and honesty to the room, helping clients feel safe enough to look inward and supported enough to try new ways of being. I am not afraid to gently call things out, but I will always strive to do it with compassion and care. My hope is that therapy feels like both a refuge and a space for growth – a place where you can explore, heal, and reconnect with what truly matters.

How I Help:

As a clinical psychologist, I often feel as though I get to experience one of life’s greatest privileges - I bear witness to the fullness of what it means to be human. Not only do I get to sit with people as they cope through painful and challenging moments, but also I am able to celebrate in moments of deep joy and pleasure. I strive to create a space that is compassionate, caring, warm, and non-judgmental, and I aim to meet you wherever you are in your journey. Through this, I remain humbled by the stories and experiences that clients bring to the room. I believe in the power of therapy. I believe in the power of curiosity and connection. Most importantly, I believe in you.

More About Me:

When I’m not in session, you can probably find me spending time with my loved ones, cozying up with a good book, cooking up something delicious, or wandering through local bookstores or cafes. I love puzzles, music, dancing, and planning my next travel adventure. It would be my honor to support you in building a life that feels meaningful and worthy.
