Carly Mahon, LCSW
Therapist
Hi there, I’m Carly and I am looking forward to meeting you! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and my approach to therapy is collaborative, transparent, and somatic. I graduated from Monmouth University in New Jersey and spent some time in my graduate studies living in Ireland and working in the community organizing and international development space. Over the years, my clinical experience has been shaped by supporting families navigating complex trauma, including adoption, foster care, reproductive trauma, and challenges in the perinatal period.
ATTUNED
There may be times where you have felt alone or like you’re falling behind in navigating life’s challenges. My goal is to help you slow down, lighten your mental load and feel safe bringing your whole self into the therapeutic relationship from your strengths, your struggles, your humor and everything in between. Instead of taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I focus on meeting you where you are - while also helping you see what’s possible with genuine support.
CONNECTED
I believe that community wellness begins in the therapeutic space and that healing happens when we can show up authentically and feel truly seen and supported. I’m continually inspired when clients recognize and celebrate their progress, no matter how big or small. Being connected to those seeking my support as a therapist means honoring the relationships we build, cultivating safety, and reminding clients that they do not have to navigate their journey alone.
How I Help:
My work is rooted in a trauma-informed, systems-informed, somatic and intersectional lens. I specialize in working with individuals and families who have experienced complex trauma, perinatal mental health challenges, anxiety, and the unique experiences that come with parenting young children.
More About Me:
In my spare time, you can find me spending time with my family, scouring the library for my next good read or tackling one of my many ongoing projects in my sketchbook. I enjoy spending time outside, trying new coffee shops and all that San Diego has to offer.
